Monday was my babys 4th birthday! Her daddy and I decided to take her to Gladys Porter Zoo and to Chuck E Cheese afterwards. So we took our daughters out of school early to celebrate. We spent a few hours at the zoo, which was amazing! There were so many animals...more than I had expected to see. And my favorite part was the giraffes! They're so beautiful. I was a little bummed that we weren't able to feed them though. But that just gives me another reason to go back again! The experience was great...until something horrible happened. While we were looking at the birds, a few minutes into it, one just falls from above and starts shaking on the ground! We left to try and find someone who worked there to help. But it was too late; by the time we found someone, the bird was dead. We found out was a ring-necked pheasant. Around 5pm we were all hungry and ready to head out. I left with a headache from the heat, but it was definitely worth it. Here are a few videos:
